Sibkraiizdat (Siberian Territorial Publishing House)

Сибкрайиздат (Сибирское краевое издательство)

Sibkraiizdat (Siberian Territorial Publishing House) existed from 1924 to 1930 and was formed on the basis of the Novosibirsk Book Publishing House. Sibkraiizdat functioned as both a publisher and a bookseller. Its history begins in the city of Omsk in 1920 when it was founded as Novosibirsk Book Publishing House -- the Siberian branch of the State Publishing House of the Russian Socialist Federative Soviet Republic.
In 1921, the publisher moved from Omsk to Novonikolaevsk (Novosibirsk). In 1922, it was reorganized into the Siberian State Publishing House (Sibgosizdat) and in 1924; the publisher was restructured as Sibkraiizdat. In September 1930, Sibkraiizdat was dissolved and its operations were allocated to the regional branches of the OGIZ (Association of the State Book and Magazine Publishers) state monopoly.
