By a resolution of the Krymrevkom (Crimean Revolutionary Committee) in February 1921; the publisher Krymizdat (Crimean Publishing House) was created as a regional branch of the State Publishing House of the USSR. In addition to publishing literature, it maintained a dedicated printing operation in the city of Simferopol', Ukrainian Soviet Socialist Republic.
